Our Policy
I require a $25 non-refundable deposit on any chin within one week once a verbal agreement has been made. This will go towards your total price. If you do not follow through with the purchase/ verbal agreement, the $25 goes towards the rest of my chin family who will divide it amongst themselves.
I do accept Personal Checks but the chin doesn't leave until the checks clear. I recommend mailing the check prior to pick up.
I want my babies to go to loving, caring forever homes where they will get the attention and care they deserve. I will only sell my babies to approved homes. I have the right to deny any purchase. I want both the new owner and the chinchilla to be happy. To prevent any of my chins from becoming rescues or taken to an animal shelter, I am very willing to take any chin back that was originally bought from me. I have taken in a few rescues from our local animal shelter and I don't ever want one of my chins to end up abandoned and waiting for a loving home.
I do have the right to ask questions which will indicate to me the level of a person's chinchilla knowledge as well as their dedication to making the animal as healthy and happy as possible.
I require all buyers of my chins to sign an Agreement/Contract stating that they are willing and able to provide for all of the chin's needs, including medical care and that if at any time, for any reason, that person can not keep the chin, I will have the first opportunity to get the chin back. No refund will be given unless there is a medical reason for the return and with this must come a statement from a veterinarian who examined the chin, proving that the chin was sick at the time of the sale or within a month after the sale.
I don't sell to minors. If you are under the age of 18 you must have a parents consent and the parent must fill out the agreements and contract.
Contract
Before signing or agreeing to this sale/ adoption, please read this contract in full and if you have any questions please contact me. I do not sell a chin that may be sick or ill in any way. It is imperative that I know you are educated about the animal, agree to care for the animal properly and are willing to seek veterinary services at any time it becomes necessary.
1. I, the buyer, am willing and able to provide and care for this chinchilla and obtain medical assistance by an exotic/experienced veterinarian if the chinchilla becomes ill at anytime. If the chinchilla becomes ill within one month of the sale, before a refund can be given, I must have in my posession a signed health form from the examining certified veterinarian, stating the diaagnosis and proof the illness came from my herd and was sick prior to sale. I must have the veterinarian's name, location and phone number. If it is proven the chinchilla ws sick before its sale, a refund can be made or exchange for another chinchilla of an equal or lower amount. Some illnesses can develop due to the new environment so based on the diagnosis and current health of my herd I will decide whether the illness was from here or if it could have developed within the month in its new home.
2. I, the breeder, do not guarantee for illnesses such as fur chewing, seizures, malocclusions, external parasites or enteritis as these conditions can be brought on by improper care, lack of proper nutrition, or a stressful environment. I do guarantee for heart murmurs only if the chinchilla is being sold as a possible breeder because heart murmurs can be hereditary. I do not guarantee any chinchilla that is a rescue/pet only because no history is known about this chin. If you are purchasing a pet (non breeder) or rescue chin who has no history, you have the option of having the chin examined by my exotics veterinarian for an additional fee.
3. I will not provide a refund or exchange for any chinchillas or pay any vet bills if it has been over a year since the date of sale. If it has been within a year of sale and the chinchilla dies, I will need information on diagnosis, possible reason for death, necropsy results if necessary, veterinarians name, number and location. I cannot guarantee a refund, it will depend on the situation and the diagnosis.
4. Refunds will not be made if the buyer changes their mind over a month from the sale date. Within a month of the sale date, if the buyer changes their mind, only half the payment will be refunded. The deposit will not be refunded if the buyer changes their mind before a full payment is received. A deposit will only be refundable if the chinchilla is sick at the time of pick up, dies before pick up or dies from a disease that was transmitted through my herd.
5. If you cannot for any reason afford medical treatment, I must be contacted before any decisions are made. I have the right to take the chinchilla back and get the proper medical treatment that is needed. At no time should the chinchilla be in any pain or suffering from any condition that could be resolved or treated.
6. If the chinchilla is being neglected in any way, lack of proper care, lack of proper nutrition, lack of exercise and attention or dirty housing, I have the right to take the chinchilla back. Refunds will not be made in situations such as this. If you can no longer care for the chinchilla I must be contacted in order to make arrangements to get the chinchilla. I highly discourage the selling or rehoming of my chinchillas without my knowledge.
7. Only applies to adoption or a rescue - I understand there is little if any history known for this animal. If any health concerns arise I will contact the seller with any concerns as well as get a veterinarian to examine the chinchilla. If the animal hs had an initial exam while in the seller's care, the seller will provide a print out of the doctor's findings.

I am only making sure my chinchillas are being loved and take care of in the best way. If at any point you need to rehome or return the chinchilla, contact me immediately and in most cases, I will take the chin back.
